PRIVATE BETA LEGAL NOTICE:

This document is part of the customer-facing documentation package for the AetherKube v1.0.0 Private Beta. Certain organizational, jurisdiction, and governing entity clauses are marked with placeholders and require formal legal counsel review prior to general commercial launch.

1. Organization Licensing Architecture

AetherKube v1.0.0 implements an authoritative, organization-level licensing model:

  • Organization Ownership: The commercial license key is issued to and owned by a registered customer Organization (org_id).
  • ROOT Account Role: The initial user initializing the organization within the local deployment is granted the ROOT role, holding sole authority over member invitations, license activations, and renewal requests.
  • MEMBER Inheritance & 100% Parity: Team members invited by ROOT receive the MEMBER role. Members inherit 100% feature entitlement parity with ROOT (multi-cluster capacity up to 5 clusters, autonomous healing, chaos suites, and AI Copilot quota).
  • Zero Personal Licenses: Individual users do not hold personal licenses. Licensing resolves strictly through User → Organization → Organization License.

2. Supported Licensing States

3. Offline Grace Period & Air-Gapped Resiliency

AetherKube does NOT require continuous internet connectivity to operate. Every issued license includes an embedded 7-day offline grace period. Features remain 100% active through the exact inclusive boundary of the grace window.

4. Organization Revocation & Renewal Lineage

  • Organization-Wide Impact: Revocation or expiration applies synchronously across the entire organization. Creating a secondary account does NOT bypass an organization's revoked state.
  • Append-Only Renewal: A revoked historical license key is never resurrected. When an organization renewal is approved, a NEW distinct organization license (lic-...) is issued. Activating the new key immediately restores PRO status for all members.
